Sunday Night

Sunday had it's ups and downs.  JaNae was feeling great earlier in the day, had visitors, and took several walks.    Later in the day, her pain pump was taken away and she was changed to pills.  She had been used to pushing a button and having almost immediate pain relief but she wasn't using it enough to justify continuing it and she needs to be on pills so she can go home.  Now when her pain is getting worse, it takes 30 minutes before the pain pills kick in. She is quickly learning to ask for a pill before the pain gets bad. Tonight is her 4th night in the hospital and we miss her... once her bowels start working she'll be able to think about coming home.  Let's cross our fingers for tomorrow! -Jeff

Here she is walking with the kids... Remember, I did promise to not post a photo of the pee bag so try not to notice it down there... (The kids are pointing at a spider they saw on the carpet,  I promise.)

On another note, Wes lost his first tooth while eating a bread stick.  It was only a little loose but suddenly popped out. He was so excited to call his mom that he didn't notice she was crying because she missed it.

When I got home from the hospital, JaNae's mom informed me that the tooth fairy had deposited $5 under his pillow...  he's going to disappointed in the future... poor kid!

Please leave comments for JaNae,  she reads every one!

  1. JaNae--
We were at Deanne's visiting the first of May when she told us about you diagnosis. I immediately called my dad. You know and calm and optomistic while choking back the tears. I could hear him over the phone. We sure have been thinking of your cute little family. You are one brave mommy! I hope that your treatment and recovery goes well. I can't believe how big your kids have gotten! They are all so darling. Your Whitney is a beautiful girl. Good thing she has all those brothers to watch out for her! We will keep praying you and your family!

  2. Hi JaNae!

I found out about you through Jill's blog and have been glad to keep up through Jeff's updates. Praying for you and your family and so glad to see you still have that same wonderful JaNae sense of humor. :) Hoping for great news from your results in a few weeks.

  3. Could you send me your mailing address? I have something I want to send you to keep your mind off your pie hole. :)

  4. Don't you LOVE those big gaping holes in kids' mouths? Almost as much as when they have a mouth full of uneven huge adult teeth growing back in. Sounds like you are working hard to keep your spirits up. I enjoy your hubby's sense of humor, and often think of your infectious giggle. keep laughing! Praying hard for you and your family!

  5. You look like you are doing so great and I'm sure you are so happy to go home very soon! Your kids are so grown up. I can't believe your oldest son Walker is taller than you! I was trying to think if was the same age as my 2nd daughter Breanna. She is 13. I just want you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers since I read about your news on this blog and Facebook. You have such great faith and courage. Keep healing and smiling!
